NO.  2217
SEX:  F
BIRTHDATE:  Unknown, 3 (presumed)
SPECIES:  Humamoid Insect ,  Praying Mantis
Notes: We found 2217 alone in the streets. She appeared to be underfed, very dazed and dirty. Since she's so young and cannot recall much, we took her in. I believe she is just on the cusp of 3 years old.
Physical Status: 2217 does not weigh much and is visibly weak. We quickly brought her to a stable condition and I believe she will make a quick recovery. She holds promise with her multiple arm-like limbs. We do not have many insectoids, so I will take to being her main care provider, as I've always wanted to study these insects closer.
Emotional Status: In the time she has been awake and from what her collectors stated, 2217 is incredibly emotional. This may pose bigger issues in the future, so I only hope it is temporary.
Procedures, Upgrades, Tests:
  • IV Drip
  • Treated (disinfected & stitched up) several old wounds
  • Clensed her of any curses
Caretaker Notes: As mentioned above, I believe 2217 will be an interesting member of our community. Though weak, she obviously is at the very least able to survive for periods of time alone. As most insectoids, she possesses incredible senses, multiple limbs and hopefully the same worker/drone mentality.

SEX:  F
BIRTHDATE:  Unknown, 15 (presumed)
SPECIES:  Humanoid Insect ,  Praying Mantis
Notes: I have noticed many interesting things about 2217 recently. More observation is required.
Physical Status: 2217 has excelled in many tests recently, especially those involving movement and climbing. Her extra limbs bring advantages others do not possess, and those who do have extra limbs fall behind as well too, so perhaps there is more to it then that. Her legs are incredibly brittle though, leaving her unable to jump or kick well. We will look into changing that.
Emotional Status: Those living beside her called her "Crybaby" and they were not inaccurate. She, though possessing incredible potential, does not act upon her impulses nearly as much as she should. She is a follower, not a leader. It appears she is not a leader in her own head too. 4444 tells her what to do, I'm not sure if she's acted on her own terms once in the past few months. She confessed to me one day that she wanted to kill someone. An avian race in her den, a young one. I asked her why she didn't. She told me that she had to reason to. Perhaps her lack of self motivation is a good thing, that avian was needed for further tests.
Procedures, Upgrades, Tests:
  • Routine checkup on limbs. Repairing cracks in exoskeleton.
  • Eye enhancements, able to see better in the dark.
  • Leg enhancements (future)
Caretaker Notes: It appears 2217 and 4444 have entered a relationship. It's a common consensus between my colleagues that they do not belong together, but we will not be interferring. Their dynamic is interesting and shows things we have never considered before. She keeps 4444 in check, somewhat and we do not have to hear 2217's bothersome crying anymore.

NO.  2217
SEX:  F
BIRTHDATE:  I don't know
SPECIES:  Humanoid Insect ,  Praying Mantis
Notes: She is no longer alive.
Physical Status: Crushed beneath rubble.
Emotional Status: Empty
Procedures, Upgrades, Tests: I removed her left mouth pincer and left her body to rot. No burial was given for anyone.
Caretaker Notes:

Did you know that when female Praying Mantis mate, they bite their partners head off? It's not clean, she nibbles and tears at the flesh like it's just a fruit. Perhaps it tastes as sweet as one. I don't think I'd taste sweet. I'd taste sour and bitter and she'd want to spit me out the moment her pincers sunk into my neck. I'll push my head further into her jaw until she cannot do anything but bite lest she choke.

I liked to read when I was younger. Documents I shouldn't have read and books I never understood. That's how I found these documents. They're very interesting, even though I was there for every day that these document. But this isn't about me (or it is :P). I found an encyclopedia about insects belonging to Dr. ?????. She left it open one day and I managed to rip one of the pages out and run. I don't think she ever figured out it was me. The page I took was about the Praying Mantis, and that's how I learnt this.

I was scared at first, only being 12 when I read it. Would 2217 bite out heads off in the middle of the night? I didn't sleep for a week. But every day I read it over and over until I knew it by heart then I read it once more for good luck. Praying mantis only kill their mates. I was safe.

We got older and our friendship turned into something more. Then the fear returned. It was irrational, maybe, but it was so real too. Baby was submissive, stayed in line and followed every order. Dotted her i's and crossed her t's, while I scribbled on the pages and write what I wanted. She developed the drone mentality as she aged, I could tell Dr. ????? was deligted. I was too. She was prime for me to rebuild as the world around her broke her piece by piece. I never kissed her on her "lips". It was a peck on the cheek or forehead. I never let her kiss me either, she said she didn't mind and so I believed her.

One night she tried to kiss me and I shoved her away. I'm not sure if I shoved her away or my instincts wanted to keep me safe, but she fell to the ground regardless. She looked at me with her large, wide eyes and once more tears ran down her face. I helped her up and comforted her, saying that she scared me and I was tired. She lapped at the excuses like a hungry child drank from a dirty puddle. She had to take it, because what else would she do?

I didn't have to worry about my pretty head much longer. It happened and she was crushed beneath rubble. We had an arguement a week ago and I was am still mad about it. I took one of her pincers from her beautifully frightening face for my own. It makes a wonderful hair comb. It feels like she's running her creepy hands, feet(?) limbs through my hair once more.

I truly hate her. Ugly raw and bleeding I cry into the night when I realise what I have lost.
